Chair || Willie Mackie

Willie joined CentreStage with vast experience, notably in the financial industry in Clydesdale Bank's Corporate, Agricultural and Private Banking business across Ayrshire and Arran.


In 2014 Willie was appointed to the board of Skills Development Scotland and in 2016 he was appointed to the Board of Scottish Enterprise where is also Chair of the Audit Committee. 


He is now Interim Chair of Scottish Enterprise and also serves on the Board of Prestwick Aviation Holdings Limited.


He has also been involved in the College sector for many years and in March 2022 successfully completed an 8 year term as the first regional Chair of Ayrshire College.


In November 2019, Willie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of The West of Scotland in recognition of his contribution to business, skills and economic development.

Duncan Leask

Duncan Leask is a UK insurance leader with over 35 years of experience gained with several leading UK insurance companies, MGAs and brokers. Having started as a filing clerk at 18 years old, he has gone from post room to boardroom.


Duncan now runs his own consulting business, Monuments Consultancy Ltd, which has become a trusted advisor and mentor to Brokers, MGAs, Insurtechs and their leaders.


Through these wide experiences, he provides hands on advice, to allow leaders to understand practically how to introduce a strategy into a business in the most appropriate way. This ensures that the business grows and that the people within them flourish.


His knowledge reaches beyond insurance, having undertaken a major change project for a large charity. As interim CEO of CentreStage, he carried out a governance review, recruited a new management team, along with a new Chair and CEO. 


He also provides mentoring to business leaders outside the insurance sector, which allows him to bring a holistic business solution to his insurance clients.


Duncan holds a Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute and works regularly around the UK.

Fiona Moss (MPH, BSc)

Fiona has had an extensive career in public health and now has responsibility for leading health improvement and equalities within the largest integrated Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) in Scotland.  In her current capacity she also manages some public health services for the wider GGC NHS Board, including the prevention components of the 5 year Mental Health Strategy. 


She started her career as a Dietitian and moved into public health while working in Ayrshire. She has worked her way up through public health with roles ranging from tobacco prevention and mental health improvement through to leading the NHS response to Social Inclusion Partnerships and aspects of community planning. 


She is currently the child poverty stream lead for Glasgow Poverty Leadership Panel and has driven the strategic shift to place, people and poverty within the specialist health improvement workforce and investment programmes. 


Fiona also leads the prevention strategy for the Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) and Children Services Planning in Glasgow.

Samantha Swift

Samantha is a Chartered Banker & certified Green & Sustainable Finance Professional, currently working as a Climate Strategy and Innovation Manager. She joined the Centrestage Board in January 2022, bringing a wealth of experience from leadership roles in retail banking and supporting entrepreneurship/SMEs through developing local enterprise ecosystems to delivering bespoke trade and corporate finance solutions to large businesses. 


Having the opportunity to play in orchestras, sing in choirs and perform in her younger years, Samantha is passionate about the inclusion, community and leadership that can be developed through the arts. 


She currently sings in our Chicks@6 and Gospel & Soul Choir.

Joyce White OBE

Joyce was Chief Executive of West Dunbartonshire Council, North West of Glasgow, for over a decade she was responsible for the overall management of Council operations. Her career spans across public, private and voluntary sectors in senior executive roles. 


She is an accredited executive coach and mentor and has also served on various boards and committees including Youthlink Scotland, Inspiring Scotland and now, CentreStage.


She is a qualified accountant and has a professional qualification in Human Resources


Joyce has been involved with Girl Guiding for many years, and is now Vice President and Ambassador for Girl Guiding Scotland in Ayrshire.


In 2018, Joyce received an OBE for her services to local government, further education and girl guiding.
